- Must be able to defeat a level 195 Jungle Demon.

- Once again, the Gnomes need your help. This time to find out what happened to the 10th squad of the Royal Guard, who went missing when they went to oversee the decommissioning of Karamja ship building facilities. Your task is to find out what happened to the squad, and presumably track them down. Head to the Grand Tree and speak to King Narnode Shareen to start the quest.
- After you talk to the King, and agree to start the Monkey Madness Quest, he will give you a seal, and ask for you to investigate the Karamja ship building facilities.
- Now, take the glider to the top of the tree to Karamja (you'll crash) and head North to the shipyard. Talk with G.L.O Caranock in the house in the south part of the shipyard, he suggests that they may have been blown off course by strong winds to the south.
- Go back to the king, tell him what Caranock said, and then the king will tell you to go to speak to Daero, up near Blurberry's bar. Before you leave, be sure to take some good food, teleport runes are very important and some anti-poison potions, as about 100% of what is on that island poisons you.

- When you talk with Daero, he will blindfold you and take you to a hangar. Him and Waydar, the pilot, will talk a little here. Then ask Daero why the gliders are folded, and he will say they are locked with a code.

- Go over to the Reinitialization Panel, and you will discover a sliding puzzle. Some of you may find this easy, as it is similar to the sliding puzzle boxes in level 3 clues. If you would prefer to skip the puzzle, you can pay 200,000gp to skip it. When you are done, the gliders should fold out, and now you are ready to sail to 'Crash Island'.

- When you arrive at Crash Island, talk with Lumdo, a member of the 10th squad. At first he doesn't trust you, and wont sail you to the Atoll. Talk with Waydar about convincing him, and talk with Lumdo again, and he should sail you to the Atoll.

- Welcome to Ape Atoll! All right, the locals aren't too friendly, and the food isn't that great, but it could be a lot worse. Head North-West, following the cliff around. When the cliff begins to head steeply north, you will be shot at with a lot of arrows, so be sure to put on protection from range (If you have it).
- You will end up in a jail with 3 members of the royal guard (Carado, Bunkdo and Lumo). They will talk for a little while, though nothing important here.

- The monkey guard will patrol 3 times, then switch with his partner - escape then. Be sure not come in the squares around the door when the guard is patrolling though, you will take 13 damage. When you escape, go to the North-East of the jail, and hide in the long grass.
- Hide in the long grass outside the temple, which is just east of the crafting store. There is an altar in here, and you can recharge your prayer points if need be, but beware of the level 167 monkeys inside. You will be near a gnome called Karam, talk to him and you will have a short conversation.

- Now, this is all about stealth and tactics. Head south, keeping in the long grass, and go around the outskirts of the temple. If you need to go out of the long grass, you may want to put on protection from range as monkeys will start to range you. You should see a little house soon, go towards it, and hide against the east wall. Talk with the sergeant (Garkor) there. Don't worry, the monkeys can't see you, despite the fact there's a giant, gaping hole in the wall. Garkor will tell you that he wants to make an Alliance with the monkey king, and says to go speak to Zooknock, the mage.

- Restock and get back to the Atoll. Time to get back in prison. Get out, and sneak North again, then East and hide in the long grass near the temple. Go South, sticking to the long grass as usual, and then run directly South, then West and enter through the back door of the second building. The building is marked on the map at the start of this guide.
- Make sure not to go into the light-brown area of this house - if you do you'll be caught and sent back to the jail. Search the crate near the trapdoor, and take the Monkey Dentures. Then, search the crate in the South-East part of the house, and it will drop you into a cave below (Note: You will take some damage). Head to the the North-West corner of the cave and search the crate pictured below to find a Monkey Speak Amulet Mould.


- Now, we need to find the mage. First, teleport back to Al Kharid, restore on food, prayer pots, antis, teleport runes, etc. You will also want to get a Gold Bar, the Monkey Dentures, and the Monkey Speak Amulet Mould. The ideal inventory is 4 anti-poisons, 6 energy potions, 3 prayer potions, teleports (Preferably a one-click teleport, or a ring or necklace) and the items above, with the rest of the inventory filled with good food. Then take the glider back to the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Talk to Daero again, Talk to Waydar, and then Lumdo, who will take you back to the Atoll.

- Head due west until you see a '!' on the map (Have a look at the island map at the start of this guide if you cant find it). Go down the twisting tunnel and follow it all the way around until the end. I know this is easier said than done. Zombie monkeys will poison and attack you, rocks will fall on you, the level 142 skeletons will cause you some serious damage and there are the same traps as in underground towards the end. Bear with it, and get to the end as fast as possible. If you want, bring a plank to use across the floor traps. Otherwise you will hit 4-10 when you run through them.


- Talk with Zooknook, the mage, and he will confirm Lumdo's story.

He will ask you to collect some materials to change you into a monkey. You'll need a Gold Bar, something to help with monkey speech (Dentures), a Monkey Speak Amulet Mould (M'speak mould), a Monkey Corpse and a Monkey Talisman. Use the Monkey Dentures, the Monkey Speak Amulet Mould and the Gold Bar with him. He will give you an Enchanted Bar and a Monkey Speak Amulet Mould. When you are done, teleport back to Al Kharid.

- Restock if you need to, make sure you have the Enchanted bar, a ball of wool and the Amulet Mould with you. Head to the temple to the East of the jail. Put on protect for melee before entering, and make your way to the ladder on the East side of the temple (You can recharge your prayer on the altar if it starts to get low). Climb down the ladder being guarded by two monkeys, and use your Enchanted Bar on the wall of fire. You will get a Monkey Speak Amulet. String it, and you will be able to wear it. Teleport out and restock.
- Go west of the jail, and go to the rather large, sparse house. Hide in the little 'alley' bit. You'll see a monkey child, and possibly, his aunty. Wait until the auntie's out of sight, and then talk to the monkey child (with your M'Speak Amulet equipped of course). Whenever you see his Aunty coming around, run back and hide in the alley until she is gone.

Talk to him for a while and tell him you're his uncle, and he will say his aunty will give him a toy if he gets 20 bananas, but he cant count. Pick some bananas from the trees nearby or get them from the crate in the South-West of the house where you found the Monkey Dentures, and give him 5. You'll have to wait a little while (try logging out, then in) and talk to him again and ask to borrow his 'toy'. The toy in fact is the monkey talisman you need.


- Teleport out and get out the items needed for going through Zooknocks cave. Make sure you also have the Monkey Talisman and a Monkey Corpse with you (Kill a normal monkey on Karamja). Go back to the mage (for the final time) and give him the Monkey Corpse and the talisman. He'll cast a spell and give you back a greegree; you can hold this and turn into a monkey. From now on, always stay in monkey form on Ape Atoll, nothing will attack you.

- Go and talk to Garkor again. He will tell you that you need permission to see the king; you'll have to go and see Kruk, the head of the monkey militia. Head southwest and follow the cliff around, from the other side now, and up the cliff on the western side. Go up the ladder and cross the bridge and talk to Kruk.
- Talk with Kruk for a little while and then he will take you to the monkey king. Talk with him and he will tell you that you need to rescue a monkey from Ardougne zoo.

- Teleport to Ardougne and go to the zoo. Turn into a monkey and talk with the monkey minder, he'll put you in the cage. Talk with one of the monkeys there and after a while it'll get in your inventory (Ignore the monkey, as it talks a lot). Turn back into a human and talk to the monkey minder to get out. Now, WALK to the Gnome Stronghold (don't teleport otherwise the monkey will disappear, and also don't un-equip your M'Speak amulet).

- From the Stronghold, fly back to the Atoll and go back and talk to the King (talk to the elder guard to get past, don't forget to be a monkey). The King will think about an alliance with the Karamja monkeys. Now talk to Garkor again and he will give you a Sigil. Don't wear this yet!
- Now, teleport back to Al Kharid and get out a lot of food and prayer pots (no anti-poison potions). I strongly recommend ranging or maging the Jungle Demon (level 195). If you decide to mage it, do not use Air Attacks (as well as Ice) because it will bounce 90% of the time. Using fire attacks is the best. If so, wear your ranging/maging gear, get all your food ready, and only when you are sure you're ready, wear the Sigil.
- Battle time. Run away from the demon at the start, turn on mage protect and start ranging/maging it when it cannot hit you with melee. When I ran away, the demon didn't chase me.

Anyway, turn on mage protect and when you've mopped the floor with the demon talk to the mage, who will teleport you to the King. Talk with King Narnode Shareen and you'll have completed the quest!

Monkey Forms: After you've finished the quest, you can go back to the Atoll, and if you give the mage another monkey talisman (Steal from the kid, or 1,000GP in the magic shop south of his house) and some form of monkey remains; Zombie (large), zombie (small), lv167 (bearded), lv167 (beardless), monkey archer or monkey assassin, he will make you another greegree to change you into a monkey of that type.
