Introduction

Air running is essentially the free player's version of law running, it is beneficial to both the crafters, and the runners. The rune crafters gain experience much faster, and the runners get paid in either coins or in air runes. The best thing about this is that all you really need is 25 rune essence (plain will do), and an air tiara/talisman, because most rune crafters will give you your rune essence back.

Air running (mainly) takes place at the air altar south-west of Falador on world 16.

Required Items

As i mentioned above briefly, the only things runners need are:

-25 un-noted rune essence
-Air tiara/talisman (tiara is preferable because it can be worn and so it wont clog up your inventory space)

How it Works

Well, basically you're a runner. This is a person who carries rune essence to and from the bank for the rune crafter, this helps to save the crafter time.

If you start off from the Falador east bank, you withdraw 25 un-noted rune essence, and then run/walk to the air altar.

Once at the air altar use your air tiara/talisman to enter, and at most times it will be packed full with people.

There will be loads of other runners and crafters there. The way to tell them apart is usually the crafters will be wearing either blue or black robes, and they'll be shouting things like "Open - 1.5k + Ess back".

Find one of the crafters and trade with them (be patient, if you don't get a crafter, loads of people are offering trades to them at once). Once you enter the trade screen offer them your essence and they will give you (I'll use the above example) 25 noted essence and 1.5k coins.

Try to make this transaction as quickly as possible, it just helps to save time and keeps things running smoothly.

Once you've done this once, leave the air altar and run/walk back to Falador bank. Then bank the noted rune essence you got from the crafter, and withdraw it again in un-noted form.

Then just repeat this as many times as you want.

The fastest, most efficient route to and from the air altar is below on the map: (you could use Draynor villiage bank, but its much futher away)

Usual/Most Common Trades

The offers you get for your un-noted essence will obviously vary from crafter to crafter, but the most common ones are usually:

-25 rune essence (notes) and 1k-2k coins.
-25 rune essence (notes) and a decent amount of airs, 100+ usually, depends on the crafters rune crafting level.
-1k-2k coins and no rune essence back.

If your unhappy with the offer they're giving you, you can decline and find another one, but don't try to bargain with them in the trade screen, most crafters will have public chat turned off.
