Heroes
[i]When people think of Heroes,
They think of people riding into the horizon
When People Think of Heroes
They think of men fighting for freedom until they are wizen
Heroes like William Wallace
Fighting for his country on the highlands
Poeple like General MacArthur
Fighting for the Philippine Islands
People like Lord Nelson
Fighting til’ the end
Heroes like George Washington
Our country, he did defend
Heroes fight for honor or bravery
But all heroes go down into history
Some become legends, some become myths
And some become mysteries
Not everyone is praised
When they have acomplished a great deed
but you will feel good about yourself
Knowing you have followed your creed
Anyone soul can be a hero
Just follow your heart til’ the last breath
Just follow your consciences
And you will have a greater peace in your death
Even a young child can be a hero
To be a hero doesn’t mean you have to save a nation
Just follow the guidance in your heart
And your mind will have a solid foundation
Now you know what it means to be a hero
Now head out and do good deeds
Follow the law and your orders
And help others with their needs

This poem I wrote at age 8 and won 75 dollars

The Civil War

The civil war proved all men equal
We are glad there was no sequel
The civil war brings sorrow to our heart
As families had to part
They beat the drums
when we got our freedom
But these men also want to be free
Just like you and me
Then the war began
As fellow man
fought one another
Brother against brother
The president thought
About the freedom that these men sought
We will remember the bullets that whistled through the air
and as men kneeled down and said a prayer
We will remember the men that kept us a free land
and that we were protected by our father’s hand

This one also won money, 50$

Forgiveness

The people of this world must forgive
If we do, we will happily live
Remember, when someone hurts you
It is the heart, not the mind we look into
Remember when you did something bad
And when you were forgiven you felt glad
Think if they had not forgiven you
That’s how the person might feel too
To live in harmony
Forgiveness is the key
If we all do our part
We will be glad in the heart
Our soul and mind will be filled
We won’t tear down, only build
We will support others
As if they were brothers
If your friends do something wrong
Remember to forgive them before long
So remember the only way to live
The way is to forgive

And here is another forgiveness poem that I will enter in…

Forgiveness

What is forgiveness, you might ask
It is tough
And a difficult task
Its is something we all should do
Never stop doing it
You must fully carry through
Forgiveness is difficult to give
But that is the way God wants us to live
For us to be satisfied with our life
We must help others
Or we will be filled with strife
True forgiveness comes from the heart
So forgive your enemies
Before you part
Yes this may seem like a very hard job
But forgive
Even the worst snob
If you don’t forgive it is as bad as living in a hole
People will look down upon you
And your mind will nag at the soul
Forgiveness is not just to clear your consciences or mind
Its is to show that you don’t carry grudges
And you have a friendship that binds
So even if the person hurt you
Remember that he is you friend
And he will always stay true
So now you know how difficulty of forgiving
but if you practice it every day
We will all be in thanksgiving

they need a little bit of work

they need a little bit of work

Huh? How? Tell me how, don’t just say, “they need a little work” HELP ME!!!

~Red~

no offence but you have to write from the heart

Please explain? Write from the heart? WHat do you think I’m doing lol… And I said compliments to lol…

~Red~

Pfft… Contrary to what those other two think, I think your poems are really good… I like the Heroes one and the one of The Civil War… Your forgiveness poems are pretty good too… Seeing as you wrote that heroes poem at age 8, I think you did a great job… Congratz for winning the money for those poems and keep up the good work…

The Forgiveness ones aren’t really my best work, but all my other good poems are on my other computer that is currently busted…
